One of those involved in the resistance was John Pendlebury, a Cambridge archaeologist, previous curator of the museum at Knossos, and put in place on Crete by SOE under diplomatic cover, ostensibly as British vice-consul in Heraklion. I hope to add some words later on John Pendlebury, but in the meantime here are two photos sent in by Bernard Lewis, although I understand they were taken by Dave Brayley.  The photos show the grave of John Pendlebury in Suda Bay cemetery.
